I expected so much more after all of the hype. Pros and cons..... Pros....cool scene and crowd; Our server was very professional; appetizers were tasty and nicely proportioned; desserts were flavorful and imaginative; small but creative wine list at fair prices. Cons........we booked a table for 9 pm and had to push the manager to be seated by 9 40; main courses were not up to standard and two guests ordered medium veal chops which came blue and were returned almost blue; the dining room is small, overcrowded, and I was expecting much better decor from Mr. Cavalli. Overall I would not go back. It was not terrible but we all expected so much more. Just average. P

very racist restaurant towards black people!! Sat there at a table for 30 minutes and everyone passed us that was working there me and my family felt very ignored and unwelcome and then they tricked us they said buy a dinner and you can go to the party lounge complimentary brought dinner and then they said we had to pay $100 for the lounge very rude and unprofessional will never attend this place again.

For my first time in Cavalli I just had a drink. I really enjoy my night in a great location, nice ambience and good people. For sure I will be back to try their food... It's looking amazing!

Ambiance amazing, service stupendous, my dinner crew dynamic and down right outa sight, drinks delicious, but the food mediocre for the hype- let down lamb, slightly savored steaks and forgettable fish- your choice for this cavalli buy!

Excellent service. Large party easily handled. Table waiting for us when we arrived. From bread to dessert, the food was very good. Great scene. Club afterward was a bit tired but if a great dinner is what your interested in, this is a nice option!

Clearly Miami Beach is craving for new places and this one is trying really hard to make it. Tonight they had an huge amount of staff and all were trying to get it right. We had a table reserved for 7 and had a great dinner, the food was not a lot, but very tasty and made you feel you had the right amount of food. Matias was our host and took care of allergies and made sure we all had what we needed. He did a marvelous job. I think food was very good, we all tried different things, from endive salad -- lacked the something special I would have expected -- to ricotta and spinach malfetti (they had a different name in the menu), and even the beet was very good and well done. Most of us had chicken or seafood as entrees and they were well as well. So, we were happy with food although there was nothing were we thought "OMG, you have to try this!". The main disappointment was the lounge club upstairs. It was one of the first nights and it got too crowded with a strange mix of people. And I give you that South Beach is heterogeneous, but somehow they need to define their target market, it's either high end people in their mid 30s to mid 40s or it's younger people looking for the next hip place. You cannot have it both ways and mix seventies and eighties music with the latest rap without getting most people frustrated. Anyways, l am looking forward to seeing how it evolves and if it doesn't, there's always Casa Tua.

Sumptuous and sexy interior with Roberto Cavalli's signature animal prints. I had the urge to take the gorgeous silk table cloth home!! This place is pushing maximum chill-out: classy crowd, super attentive service, and exotic drinks - Purple Glamour is my fave. Yummy food & decent portion sizes- Yellow Fin Tuna Tartare had many notes of flavors and I was full before my main course came out. Delightful, luxurious with a fun lounge upstairs.

Delicious! Very surprised with the low star reviews. Everything is subjective to location / experience. Had 5 dishes 2 apps 2 entries and dessert, everything was cooked with great quality ingredients and very tasty. Had to write a review, considering I saw so many contradicting ones on here. Don't listen to them, if in maimi def check it out

Cavalli offers great menu options for dinner!! The Italian fare is very authentic. The decor is second to none in keeping with Cavalli's signature style! Every table has a different theme while remaining cohesive! The lounge upstairs has a unique look to it as well and the perfect backdrop for raking pictures! The service was efficient and impeccable!

One word. ... disappointed. My boyfriend had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now so he took me for valentine's day. The food is way overpriced for the quality that you get. The dishes weren't seasoned. Portions were small and didn't look like anything on the site. I get it... its advertising. As i looked into my boyfriend's eyes full of disappointment, i told him. .. Cavalli is a designer, not a chef. We had the Grilled octopus, the arugula salad and added lobster, as well as the lamb ossobuco. The food didn't taste like it was made with love. It didn't blow our minds and left us so disappointed. We definitely wouldn't go back for the food. The lounge was pretty cool but I don't recommend eating here.

Cavalli is nested in a prime location and has that 80's "Miami feel" to it when you arrive. I was given the opportunity in trying this restaurant out through Concierge Connect. This is a great spot for high-end clientele, business travelers and couples looking for an upbeat ambiance inside of their lounge, located upstairs. The Lamb Ossobuco, Lobster Risotto, Antipasti Sampler and Donuts with Nutella filling were exceptional. I find this spot to be great on Tuesday nights.

Loved this place !!! My best friend and I wanted to do a girls night out. We got dressed up and made a reservation for two and wanted to take the Cavalli experience all in :) I absolutely LOVED the décor in this place and was so cute ! We had an earlier dinner about 730p so it wasn't too bust when we got there. By the end of our dinner and drinks, the place was filling up. Dinner was good but you're paying for the price of the name and ambiance. The antipasti and beef tartare was excellent. You can't go wrong with meat and cheese ! The black truffle Risotto was really good too. And we split the Chilean Sea Bass which I thought was good but I would like to try something else the next time. The lounge upstairs was so much fun ! Great music and the same chic look of the animal print style flowed. Can't wait to come here again ! A lot of fun ! A great place for you and your girlfriends to get dressed up and have a great time !

It is great to see that service is slowly but surely improving and the food as always is great. Luco the general manager is on point and makes sure things run smoothly. I had the branzino which is a great choice if you want to eat a lighter fish than the sea bass. For appetizer dont forget to try the vitello tonnato. they can make it new or traditional style. one of my favorites.

I was there last night, food is great service was perfect except for the lack of English. I mean it's Miami but there are still few who doesn't speak Spanish. Prices are pretty high but you get what you pay for and the food is delicious.

This place is EXTRAORDINARILY overpriced. The portions are really small like an appetizer half the size of my fist was worth $24. BUT it was absolutely delicious. So basically - pricey, tasty, not filling, and boring service. Also the decor is mega tacky. Cheetah print everywhere.

The place is beautiful but the service wasn't good at all. We were a group of 12 celebrating a graduation and they brough the appetizers before the bottles. There wasn't much attention. We were at the lounge upstairs which I think it's better only for drinks

My husband decides to celebrate my birthday in this place that looked very fancy and with the name of a famous well known designer. He called in advance to make the reservation (with a credit card) and Ordered a pre set Menu, to make sure everything was going to be ready as we were a party of 22 people. The place Looks tacky, It was dirty and the air conditioning does not work well. The service was awful, the food was average, not worth the money we paid!! The appetizers were just ok and the Main courses horrible, tasteless risotto and overcooked meat. And the drinks were a real nightmare, the lychee martini was hot and in a glass of white wine because they were short of martini glasses and on top of that they took like 20 min to be ready. The place was not crowded, there were a lot of empty tables. And the price!!! Super expensive for the bad service (22% included btw) and horrible food we got!! 5000$ waste in a horrible experience!! Never ever Again!!! Honestly, I dont believe this place is going to last long here in Miami

Came back here and must change my review Bc omg what an upgrade!!! Dishes r yummy now and I noticed 2 dishes I had before were changed to better taste and presentation! Plus the lounge is idk how to describe it...better than best! Older selected crowd, creme de la creme! Awesome music for every taste and best of all: volume!!! This ain't no LIV nor space up there it's Florence lounge style at it's best! Dance and meet and chat with people worthy of your time! Yes guys! Congrats! My new fav place in south beach! Keep it up! Btw I didn't change my review Bc of any discounts or comps from managers etc this is GENUINE u hv my word ppl! 6 stars!!!

We made reservations for Monday night. The atmosphere was formal and the people there...beautiful ! So please dress to impress. Specialty cocktails is a must! We had wine on top of that, they had a pretty nice selections. We sat out side and ladies if you make frequent bathroom trips ask to be seated inside. I wish I did. Each of us ordered appetizers and a main course that way we got to sample a variety of the food. Personally the food was a 7 for me. The service was awesome. I enjoy the ambiance more then anything else . It's a must experience if you are with a group of friends, looking to people watch and have fancy cocktails!

The verdict is in. Cavalli is here to stay!! Cavalli is a refreshing new addition to the Miami scene. The restaurant is gorgeous with sleek chrome accents, Cavalli print adorned tables and lots of sexy people! We arrived on a chilly Miami night to find that the outside patio was just as cozy as the inside of the restaurant. The Hostess dressed head to toe in Cavalli was welcoming and promptly walked us over to the bar area. Which oddly enough did not have any seating, but we didn't mind. Bar staff was engaging, informative and... Really good looking! lol I had one sip of my drink and our table was ready. Our waiter was pleasant and professional. I'm so over the stuffy staff at other Miami restaurants. The Cavalli staff makes such a huge difference on your experience. It's not just the food, but the way you feel when you're dining here. It was perfect! The highlights of my meal were: Risotto with Black Truffle - A Must! 48-Day Aged Classic Florentine Steak - Delicious! Red King Crab (not on the menu) - melt in your mouth goodness! Exotically delicious food with welcoming staff and excellent service. Can't wait to go back!

The restaurant is actually pretty small but it has interesting decor with an animal print theme. As for the food, the presentation was interesting but the food was average. My favorite part was the Tiramisu dessert which when served seemed to be no where in sight, but it was actually hidden by its presentation. 2 stars, interesting decor and good wine but average food.

I wouldn't put even one star if it's would be an option. Very bad service, food is poor and don't cost so much as they request, very very very bad manager's relations to clients. My evening yesterday night was ruined. I would never ever come again.

Definitely one of THE places for people watching in Miami. The food was excellently cooked and the risotto was one of the best I remember. It's location couldn't be better right on Ocean Drive and their wine menu is very complete.

Amazing service especially for South Beach. Food was phenomenal. I had the octopus, sea bass and for desert I had the tiramisu. Everything was on point. There is a dress code so come dolled up. Great food, posh ambience, and point on service all earn CAVALLI 5 stars in my book. I will be back before the end of my trip. Good luck and good eats !!!

Great ambience and location! Service was great and food portions were decent. Food was delicious although a lil pricey than other high ends restaurants in Sobe. Lil over $500 for a total of 5 drinks and 4 meals and nothing spectacular. Drinks are a lil pricey for what they offer. I understand it is a trendy place but they should work on their execution better that's why I knocked down a star. I will try their lounge scene when I am back in Miami again.

I dined at Cavalli last Saturday night with my boyfriend. We had a reservation and were seated comfortably outside in seconds by the gracious hostess. I noticed the animalistic (leopard print/zebra) accents immediately from the dining chairs, place settings to the hostess's dress. The decor is eclectic yet refined.....including our bright turquoise printed Roberto Cavalli tablecloth. So far so good.... Unfortunately my partner and I were less impressed once seated. There were little things that were off (that I normally wouldn't complain about) like forgetting the black napkin that we requested three times and ultimately still never received. Also, grossly over cooking my tuna steak even though I playfully told the waiter I Iike it "as rare as humanly possible". The main issue was that the food itself left us unsatisfied and frankly expecting more. Our first appetizer, the recommended octopus carpaccio, was promptly sent back. It was salty, fishy, chewy.....weird. Not at all the delicacy we anticipated by the waiter's description and at $20 something we didn't hesitate to exchange it. Our next attempt was a warm seafood salad. It was definitely not bad, but not especially good either. I've had quite a few dishes like this and this preparation was mediocre. My tuna steak entree was clean, pleasant and what I expect from a tuna steak, once they corrected the over cooking error. I started my tuna just as my boyfriend finished his gnocchi. I thought that Cavalli would bring a twist, a flare, some element to my go-to dish that would leave me reminiscing..... but alas, my sesame crusted tuna atop some mildly spiced cous cous will soon be forgotten. My boyfriend's homemade crab gnocchi was the best dish of the evening. We passed on dessert because of the lack of detail on their description, and our waiter, who was sweet but seemed a novice, didn't elaborate, recommend nor seem excited by the selection...... so neither were we. In conclusion, I realize Cavalli has just opened and still might have some kinks to work out....I'll try them one more time in hopes of being wowed.

South Beach is back! Had an awesome time at the bar. Went with friends to have some cocktails at the downstairs bar and they were some of the best I've had. Lorenzo from Italy made amazing concoctions that everyone raved about and explained many of the other amusing choices. Some w Vin Sant, which I tried for first time and a refreshing one made with pear infused brandy. The decor is very sharp, wild and luxurious... Like everything Mr. Cavalli does. We'll defenetly have to come back to try the cuisine, it looked really good.

Nice cool place, service good but is missing something. Appetizer were ok and the food was good but i was expecting better. High point is their gnnochi, was really the best I have ever tried. Low point they put us 6 in a round small table that we couldnt share our appetizers. So I would go back and I would recommend for a nice tranquil dinner.

Valet Park......Walk in through busy patio outdoor al fresco seating. Cavalli decor.....Milan meets Miami.... just a short walk down from Prime 112. Saturday night in SoBe....20 minute wait......If it wasn't busy....I'd be worried. Went up to the bar to enjoy cocktails while we wait......great service!!!! Bartender was talking about the night before at Club 11.......funny conversation...evidently we were all there the night before. Had cocktails inside bar......and later took the glasses outside.....cool weather.....heat lamps.....cozy patio seating....perfect night. Shortly invited in to be seated......comfortable corner table.....open kitchen.....elegant crowd....very well dressed.....Gucci, Pucci, Fiorucci...and oh yes, Cavalli. Meal was perfect!! Great food...of course, always tastes better in a wonderful atmosphere....and atmosphere is certainly provided by Cavalli. Enjoying our meal....suddenly....an endless line of "supermodels" begin parading inside towards a door that leads to a lounge-area upstairs. 1 supermodel.....2...3....4....5.....6... ok back to the meal.....7....8....9..ok stop looking......back to the meal....10!!!! I am almost certain a modeling agency was having a party. Where are they going? Well....had to.....you know.....go upstairs to check out the lounge area...curiosity. The lounge area is totally different from the restaurant atmoshere....dark room with cool lighting.....nice music....Cavalli-stylish....... great place to hang out after hours and have drinks....but for now.....back downstairs to the restaurant. Overall.....Cavalli is the total SoBe experience. Great looking crowd.....good food.....exotic cars outside.....Cavalli Home decor interior..... tastefully over-the-top....and good food. The only downer......big ding on my driver's side car door upon return from valet. Evidently....dinner cost an extra $500.......ouch. No help from Valet....totally denied it.......not the restaurant's fault.....but leaves a bad taste. Nice experience at Cavalli otherwise....very SoBe....give it a try. Btw ...bring $$$....nothing Cavalli is ever cheap....but honestly....worth a try. 5 stars? ...hmmmm.... no...not 5....the food is good....the atmosphere is great! maybe 4 1/2. but overall...Enjoyed it! (Now to get that ding fixed).

I struggled with choosing a rating for this restaurant... The decor? Awesome. The waitstaff? Meh. Slow and so many times our water glasses sat empty. That's unacceptable to me when paying these pieces. The food? A mix of great (gnocchi & risotto) with bland (fish on Miami spice menu). The tiramisu was some of the best I have ever had, but I don't think this would be a place I would frequent. It has nice outdoor seating, but this place didn't blow me away.

Where to begin? A friend of mine celebrated her Bachelorette party in Miami this past weekend, and since i'm the only one that lives in Miami I offered make restaurant reservations and organize the weekend's itinerary. I tried to choose restaurants that were newish and would provide a fun vibe appropriate for a Bachelorette. I called Cavalli almost 2 months ago to make Saturday's reservation, and again last week to confirm. We arrived at 9:05 PM on Saturday night for a 9 PM reservation. Despite the fact that the restaurant was mostly empty, our table wasn't ready so we were asked to wait by the bar. Off we went, 10 women, one pregnant, to stand around the busier bar area. 20 minutes later, our table still wasn't ready. I approached the manager to ask why our table wasn't ready 25 minutes after our reservation time when the place was mostly empty and our pregnant friend was being forced to stand unnecessarily. The manager reacted like I was being irrational and was extremely dismissive and borderline disrespectful. He absolutely did not care about the impression the ordeal was making. The table should have been ready. The place was almost completely empty and they knew we were coming. This isn't Prime 112, they aren't that busy. Finally, about 10 minutes after I approached the manager our table was "ready," except half of us didn't have bread plates and we were given only 1 oil dish for a long table of 10. Our waitress took eons to take our drink order and after we got our drinks we waited what felt like another decade to place our appetizer and entree order. Among several other things, we ordered the tuna tar tar, the burratina cheese, the antipasti sampler, the arugula salad, and the organic tomato salad. I thought the burrata and the sampler were both very good. I loved the tomato salad, the tar tar was just okay. After we finished our appetizers, it was a very long time before we got our entrees and our appetizer dishes weren't cleared until our entrees arrived. Even then, they attempted to place the entrees on the table without taking off the appetizer plates. In addition to asking that our plates be cleared, we also poured our own water and wine several times throughout the evening and had to ask for things repeatedly. Some of the entrees we ordered were the gnocchi with gorgonzola & mascarpone, the crab ravioli, the sea bass, and the ossobuco. The entrees were all too buttery and overly salted. I had the ossobuco and it was nothing to write home about. The risotto it came with was bland. My friend's sea bass was overcooked and the ravioli were just okay. For dessert, we ordered the bombolini, the molten lava cake, and the mini petit fours. The lava cake was my favorite, and the bombolini came in a close second. The dessert and our interaction with the sommelier were by far the highlights of the evening. We're in Miami at a pricey restaurant and we ordered several dishes off of the menu. We were prepared to spend a pretty penny and weren't expecting a superior culinary experience, or the best service of our lives. What we were expecting was to be treated to relatively good service, with some modicum of respect and to sense at least some appreciation for our business. As the evening progressed, our server became increasingly impatient and rude. Frankly, i'm not sure why. We were a table of 10, but we weren't particularly demanding of her time or attention. She just didn't come by very often, and when she did she wasn't particularly interested in how we were doing. Thankfully, one of the busboys was doing his best to help us throughout the evening. Toward the end, we ordered 4 espressos and after another decade got 2. When we were able to track down our server and asked for 2 more, we got 1. We then asked for another and she snapped, saying "you ordered 4 and keep asking for 2 more, how many is it that you actually need?!" We explained what had occurred, but it was downhill from there. She snapped at us several more times after that. Our bill was over a grand, naturally. Due to the size of our party, gratuity was included. When the bill came, we weren't comfortable tipping 18% after being mistreated in the way we had been so we called over the manager. This isn't something i've ever done before, EVER. When we explained our position on the tip in a very calm and respectful manner, we received a very curt and dismissive reply. This was by far the WORST experience i've ever had in a restaurant in any city, or country EVER. Customers should not be treated this way, particularly when it's clear that they aren't being irrational or overly demanding. I don't understand why staff at a restaurant would be so unconcerned with the level of customer service provided. To make matters worse, they charged my card twice, for two very different amounts. will never step foot inside Cavalli again and would discourage anyone from spending their money this establishment.

Shocked to see the mediocre reviews for food that was, too me, some of the best I have eaten -- bumping even Lola down a peg on my list of dining experiences. And I love Lola. First, Cavalli is beautiful, serene break from the bustle of South Beach, though so close to it. It is beautifully designed to make you want to spend time there, to linger, in an atmosphere that is decidedly upscale -- you feel like you are having a nice experience -- but somehow managing to not be overbearing about it. The service was superb, snappy and manicured but not heavy-handed. Drinks: I love to start dinner with a negroni, which was perfectly prepared. My charcuterie plate was solid, though my partner's white asparagus soup was rich, creamy and stellar. Forgive me for forgetting my partner's pasta as I was too interested in my wonderful boar agnolotti dressed in truffles to remember! The quality of the pasta itself was very high, clearly made on site, fresh, and cooked as perfectly as it was dressed. Although it has become cliche to say that the wine list was 'well-curated' it certainly was designed so that each of us could have a glass of wine that truly paired with our food, a quality Italian wines are so noted for. Likewise, the small but thoughtful after-dinner spirits selection allowed me to choose a wonderful Jacopo Poli grappa (Poli grapps are always to die for) to follow my decadent ricotta cheesecake, as my partner was able to choose a wonderful dry apricot liqueur to follow the wonderfully executed trompe l'oeil of a tiramisu. Yes, it was quite expensive, and only offered great views of the hotel across the street and the Ferraris at the curb, but Cavalli offers something quite rare: just a bit of South Beach's extravagence but without the crazy.

Amazing food! We are from NYC, we were a but apprehensive after reading some reviews, but fantastic delicious food! We ordered the salmon toast with capers & pesto which melted in our mouth, lobster aria burrata, crab ravioli and shaved artichoke. Drinks were great too. Props to the chef. Tip- We ate downstairs, go upstairs & have a drink afterward :)

Another nice restaurant in South Beach that does not allow you to bring your own wine, that's just stupid! Charge a corkage, but let people bring their wine! Also, no where on Open Table or anywhere else does it state that that is their policy. Also, tables were small and plates were large (even thought the portions were small). Need to get bigger tables or smaller plates. With a large verity of restaurants in South Beach, there is no need for these crazy policies. Not going there again!

** Haven't tried the restaurant, YET ** Came here last night with a friend for what I think was the grand opening of the lounge! First off, I love how the lounge is completely secluded from everything else (the entrance is in the back of the restaurant, you would never know it was there) and I thought the entrance was unexpected. Most SoBe clubs/lounges have extravagant entrances "preparing" you for what is inside. This lounge? Not the case. You REALLY don't know what to expect until you walk inside! Several cool points to this place though. The inside was very different, the couches were of a tiger/leopard print, matching the bottle girls' outfits. For once in my life, I did not walk into a completely dark lounge, I could actually see where I was going and who was inside. The music was not loud enough to where you couldn't hear someone screaming in your ear, or low enough for you to hear yourself breathing. They played both new and mainstream music, as well as some amazing throwbacks. One thing that I thought was really interesting was that the vodka they were serving was branded Cavalli! Not sure if this is because the vodka is actually theirs, or the club ordered the bottles so they would say so! Overall I plan on coming here on upcoming Mondays. Perfect atmosphere to network and have a good time in one of SoBe's new hidden gems.

Notable brand with the famous name as well with awesome touches to the decor that represents the Cavali name. Great crowd, exceptional service, and a nice array on the menu. I have nothing negative to say about the place!

We landed here after being told the wait at Prime 112 was at least an hour and a half past our reservation time - ain't nobody got time for that. Unfortunately, I kind of wish we would've just waited it out. The restaurant is as "vibrant" as everything Cavalli does. I personally found it a bit tacky, but had a nice outdoor seating area. After waiting about 25-30 min, we were seated. Service was a bit slow, though the servers were friendly. But the real problem here is that the food just isn't that good. My frito misto was mediocre at best, as was the grilled octopus. For entree, my spaghetti with lobster was salty and the pasta tasted like the kind you get in a box at the grocery store. My husband's steak was of Fred Flintstone proportion, but just not great. Ultimately, we paid over $200 for a meal that was just not good. And we finished at the same time as those we waited with at prime 112. Definitely won't be returning. Ever.

There are only a few places in Miami that still make fresh pasta and Cavalli is definitely the top spot in South beach, the only other I see that does OK is Scarpetta in north beach. The owner Ivan is an outstanding person!

I'm writing about lounge/club upstairs that's probably owned by someone else and partnered with Cavalli , I really hope so because it's embarrassingly bad. First of all it looks like a strip club, I know I know it's flamboyant Italian Cavalli's interior style but so is Tootsie's in Miami Gardens. Not working. Go check for yourself :) Second, bar has no ingredients to make any simple classic drink. I asked for Moscow Mule and bartender said they don't get to have ginger beer... But they did have mint so I went for mojito. It was in a tiny, almost shot-like glass, petty much all ice and not good- 22$ tip included. They include tip for drinks at the bar. Be aware. The funnies part was when we saw cocktail waitresses coming out with Svedka vodka holding above their heads like it's a show time! Svedka is a 10$ low shelf vodka. How can any self respected club even have Svedka on their menu. The mix juices that came with it were horrible. Music was all in style of Michael Jackson and Cher .... Crowd is mostly women, throwing around lonely looks at men hoping to get picked up. I heard and saw a lot of great things about Cavalli club in Dubai and had high expectations, this place is nothing close to one in Dubai, shockingly disappointed.

This place is nothing short of another Miami scam. It has zero influence from the owner. The prices are outrageous and the service was just awful. Stay away and let me just add that aside from not being gay friendly they are nobody friendly... They will be gone in 24 months. Just like everything else RC does. Nothing is built to last. EDV

I dined at the restaurant with my boyfriend on Thursday Oct 23rd. I have recently moved to Miami part time for work, going back and forth to NY, and it was my boyfriends first time coming to our new home down here. He desperately wanted to go to Cavalli so I made a reservation for his first night. Our server was excellent. However not all was excellent as she: 1) The Short Rib Ravioli was EXTREMELY salty, nearly inedible. Im not a complaining type, but when our server asked how the food was I let her know that all was delicious besides that one dish which was very salty. She came back to the table in a few minutes and said that the manager would come over. Although it was not necessary to speak to the manager I did appreciate that, however, he never visited the table, and the dish was on the bill at the end of the night. 2) The drinks. My boyfirend had the lichee cosmo, and it was very sweet, so for round 2 he asked for it to have a bit more vodka than juice. The drink came about 2/3 full and the waitress let us know that they could not add more liquor but only could reduce the juice (tacky, but fine.) Round three he asked if it could be a full drink this time, she said it would cost extra. (again, tacky, but fine.) The bill came and the "extra charge" was an additional drink! Come on, charging more, tacky. charging double, crazy! We didn't let any of this spoil our fun, so we had a drink at the bar after dinner. It was actually at the bar where I realized that the "extra cost for more alcohol" meant double price. So we had a very expensive round of drinks and moved our night to another venue. Again, the service was fairly great for Miami standards, but although my boyfriend loved this restaurant, I will be suggesting other establishments for future dining experiences, as I was not very happy with the overall experience.

Clean decor, decent cuisine. Significantly overpriced. First, if you are dining at the signature restaurant of a fashion icon, you'd expect the decor to reflect that. Not here. The design is open, clean and airy. However, the only Cavalli touches appear to be the zebra chairs and the tablecloth. Everything else is boring. Stemware-generic. Plates-generic. Silverware-generic. Ok, but how's the food? The food is enjoyable. Sea bass is properly prepared, scampi fritti was not over done. Desserts, including tiramisu, we're enjoyable. Here's thing, it does not rise to the level of the pricing. When you are paying Maserati prices, you should not get an Infiniti product. It should blow you away. This is good food, but simply overpriced. More to the point, the service is not quite up to par. For a smallish restaurant, there should be very little wait time for service at the table. I won't write this place off yet, but it isn't a meal you will remember next year. And the pricing is a touch too high. Some others have complained about small portions, but I found all to be adequate. Also, it is much, much better than Cippriotti's, which is simply a train wreck.

The service at the bar was excellent. We only stopped in for drinks after a dinner but the bartender was super friendly and made a great craft cocktail. This was a very balanced drink made with the freshest ingredients. Glad we stopped in.

This place is absolutely gorgeous and the decor is fabulous. The location is perfect, right on 1st and Ocean in the quieter end of south beach. Food is top-notch Italian and delivered with impeccable service. They also have a lounge upstairs which is small and exclusive. A must try.

This place is just another typical SOBE restaurant, all name and no good food or service. Don't get me wrong the staff is really nice but the service was not. They were to slow, the drinks came half an our after we were seated, food came out cold and my stake which I had ordered medium rare came out bland and as hard as a rock. I think they just left the Rib eye on the pan and forgot about it. The appetizers were just mediocre and the dessert horrible. On top of the bad food and poor service it's expensive. DO NOT GO!!!

Absoultely terrible experience, the food and service was terrible, upstairs lounge is only filled with euro promotors that smell terrible!! The place smelled terrible itself. Our french server didn't know how to speak english. I will never go there again!!!

Step aside Prime 112, Casa Tua and Juvia! The new SoBe Mecca for Miami's glitterati goes by the name CAVALLI! Chef Stefano Mazzi has an impressive array of Italian dishes ranging from scallop crudo to truffle risotto (both to die for)! Try the 'South of 5th' cocktail, served from the uber-sexy bar! Signature Cavalli silk table cloths that you could make dresses from! We were trying to figure out how to take one. Table wear from Villeroy & Bosch! Screams couture! Paparazzi await the Latin soap opera and porno-lite stars who escape to private events upstairs. This may be the antidote to the mass-tourismo, familia con-tres-ninios invasion that has destroyed SoBe the last 5 years. Horray for our savior, Roberto C., for re-taking this beach-head to new heights!!

The decor is trendy, posh and very "south beach" sophisticated... Which I give 5 stars. The whole vibe of the establishment was really nice, the entrance, bar and dining area. Now regarding the food. The food is good-Not great. My Sea bass wasn't what I expected, it was kind of mushy. So I would give 3 stars for the meal. Overall my rating is 4 to meet half way. My expectations were high because of the Cavalli name behind this establishment but the truth is, I wasn't WOWd. The service was great because 2-3 people were constantly checking on our table. I will say that the cocktails and the cappuccino were stellar. I would recommend going at least once.

Ambiance is very nice , feels very glamorous . The food was delicious. Cavalli's own red wine was very good. Obviously the price is very high, but that was expected. It is one of those places you go to on a special occasion.

Attention to detail. From the impeccably designed interior and exterior to the formally trained staff to the small details like providing almost one staff member for each patron (which in this place just works and they are never falling over each other nor in your way nor lurking over your shoulder) Even their iced tea comes with a presentation that is neither pretentious nor overdone, it works. Ive been to this place when it was Devito's and it just never had this ambience. I even recall the place before that but can't remember the name... the space seemed doomed to me.... Not anymore.. We had NO intention of going here tonight. We were actually on the way to Prime Italian and saw Cavalli was open. We stopped in, no reservation (After eating here I suggest you make a reservation this place is THAT good and they really didn't advertise they were open anywhere that I saw) We ordered a very simple first meal here ( I will update with other visits here I want to try everything) I had the warm seafood salad which actually brought me back to Sardinia and Im not talking about the place on Purdy Ave. The seafood was so fresh and so tasty with a deliciously fruity olive oil. The spices used were gentle and really gave the essence of being on the Med in summertime, I totally didn't expect this. Then we ordered the Papardelle with artichoke and veal ragu. This tasted as if Lidia Bastianich herself came from her famed Felidia in NYC (One of my favorite italian restaurants in the world) and developed this dish herself. If you knew my passion for her cooking you would understand that comparing anyone to her is of the highest honor. We then had the chocolate doughnuts for dessert. These little puffy gentle clouds of chocolate doughnut encase a wonderfully delicious lovingly soft pudding of Nutella and an amazing raspberry dipping sauce.. Mr Roberto Cavalli, thank you for coming to Miami Beach and gifting us residents with your epicurean delight. I hope other designers follow suit and create their own passion projects from their homeland.

I give this restaurant three stars because for the prices it is merely average, I am embarrassed for this restaurant for claiming to be an Italian restaurant and then charging $34 for a microscopic portion of spaghetti!

Where to begin? When you go to this type of restaurant i expect to be treated in the best way possible .. The waiter i got yesterday he really seemed as if he thought he was better than everyone in the whole restaurant ... Terrible service i had better attention by one of the bus boys and other assisting staff . The waiter received $40 for free because if i had the option of not paying 18% i would of... The food was good although i didn't like the the truffle risotto not because it was bad. Ive had many truffle risottos before but not one as cheap as the one i got served yesterday if you are serving TRUFFLE risotto it should have plenty of truffles i don't care the price but if your going to use truffles in a dish i believe it should have plenty aside from the fact that they use mushrooms as well which is pretty much the first restaurant where i see that happening. Really bad service especially since i was celebrating valentines with my gf i would return but they seriously have to do a staff change.

My partner and I were lured into this restaurant while walking around South Beach because it looked gorgeous. I'm very glad we went, because the food was as tasty as the decor was beautiful. This is a restaurant with a Roman style menu with antipasti, primi, and secundi. We did not have the secundi because, honestly, we couldn't afford it, but we had a full and satisfying meal without it. The antipasti was very good, but the highlight was the freshly made pasta. I had agnolotti stuffed with cheese and pears in a brown butter sage sauce. It was simple, elegant, and delicious. My partner had wild boar ravioli covered in slices of truffle, which was also very good. Dessert was amazing, I had the tiramisu, very cleverly presented. It's hard to get a good tiramisu, but this one was fresh, creamy, and utterly unlike the frozen or pre made ones that are so common. The ricotta cheesecake my partner had was the better dessert, though. It had just the right amount of sweet, just the right amount of citrus, and was so smooth! All of this was accompanied by good wine from their well-tailored list. I want to add that the service was impeccable. We arrived early for dinner, wandering up from the beach, and were given the best seats in the house, on the patio with a great view for peoplewatching. The service of the courses was leisurely, but intentionally so. Sitting outside, digesting one course, talking over wine, and anticipating the next course is such a pleasure. I'm so glad we came to Cavalli to enjoy it!

Horrible service! I have been here since 8:45 and it's 11:00 and I'm still waiting for my food. Ambience is great but food is mediocre and the wait is absolutely ridiculous.. The waiters don't know anything. This place needs to get it together!

6 stars!!!

Loved the ambiance as well as the venue. The drinks were awesome especially the bar upstairs. Even the bathroom gentleman was very nice and professional. Def. highly recommend for a night of chicness and opulence.

I was there last night, food is great service was perfect except for the lack of English. I mean it's Miami but there are still few who doesn't speak Spanish. Prices are pretty high but you get what you pay for and the food is delicious.

The place is beautiful but the service wasn't good at all. We were a group of 12 celebrating a graduation and they brough the appetizers before the bottles. There wasn't much attention. We were at the lounge upstairs which I think it's better only for drinks

Horrible service! I have been here since 8:45 and it's 11:00 and I'm still waiting for my food. Ambience is great but food is mediocre and the wait is absolutely ridiculous.. The waiters don't know anything. This place needs to get it together!

This place is absolutely gorgeous and the decor is fabulous. The location is perfect, right on 1st and Ocean in the quieter end of south beach. Food is top-notch Italian and delivered with impeccable service. They also have a lounge upstairs which is small and exclusive. A must try.

EDV

DO NOT GO!!!

very racist restaurant towards black people!!

This place needs to get it together!

very racist restaurant towards black people!!

Cavalli offers great menu options for dinner!! The Italian fare is very authentic. The decor is second to none in keeping with Cavalli's signature style!

EDV

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
